UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
The United Methodist Women of Mt. Auburn participate in global ministries by giving a pledge each year to the missions of the United Methodist Women, by monetary gifts to Lucille Raines Residence, Conference School of Christian Mission, Service Scholarships, Metro Ministries and Church Women United. Special Offerings are taken for Call to Prayer and Self-Denial, World Thank Offering, and UNICEF. The circles have projects each year for the community and local missions.
Agape Circle meets the third Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the church library unless otherwise noted in the program book. Members take an active part in preparing programs. An ongoing mission project is "Cookies for Fletcher Place". A yearly field trip is part of the program - this year in the month of July.
Shalom Circle meets on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the church unless otherwise noted in the program book, with a variety of programs and projects. Camp bags for the children of Fletcher Place are made each year.
The group participates in UMW District and Conference activities and the circles work together on a Mission Breakfast, a Mother’s Day Dinner, a Friendship Breakfast and a Ladies Candlelight Christmas Dinner. These are planned as outreach programs to encourage women in the church who may not be members of the UMW to come and learn about the organization.
This is a creative, supportive fellowship of women dedicated to missions.
